Bourbon-Glazed Yams recipe - American medium difficulty dish

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium yams, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, bourbon, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed yams to the bowl and toss until well coated.
  4. Transfer the yams to a greased baking dish and spread them out evenly.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the yams are tender and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
