Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Mix to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread the crumbled sausage and shredded cheese evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and cut into 1-inch pieces.
- Place the pieces on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
