Cheesy Klobasnek with Sausage

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Mix to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  7. Spread the crumbled sausage and shredded cheese evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with garlic powder.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and cut into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Place the pieces on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
