Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil. Add flour and stir quickly until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let it cool slightly. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until smooth.
  4. Pipe or spoon the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  5. Let the cream puffs cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  7. Slice the cream puffs horizontally, fill with whipped cream, and replace the tops. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
