Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 package pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, sauté diced onion and minced garlic over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Add ground pork and ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in thyme, cinnamon, cloves, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes until flavors meld.
- Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Fill with the meat mixture.
- Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam vents.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
