Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip the onion rings into the buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  3. Coat the floured rings in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
