Crispy Fried Green Beans with Wasabi Mayo

For The Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • Peanut oil for frying
  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 10 oz beer
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch cayenne pepper

For The Wasabi Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1 tsp wasabi paste

Directions:

  1. Mix mayo and wasabi paste in a small mixing bowl until combined and set aside.
  2. Line a baking sheet with paper towels and top with a wire cooling rack. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1-2 inches of peanut oil in a large heavy-bottomed pot (like a dutch oven), until 375 F degrees.
  4. Whisk together beer, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and cayenne. Dip green beans in batter and fry in batches, a few minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  5. Remove green beans and place on prepared baking sheet.
