Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and chocolate chips until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
  6. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut it into 8 wedges.
