Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Directions:

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise, then cut each piece in half crosswise.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the bananas to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized.
  4. Carefully pour the rum over the bananas and ignite it using a long lighter. Be cautious as the flames may shoot up. Let the flames die down.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the bananas and swirl the pan gently to coat the bananas in the sauce.
