Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional flavorings: herbs, garlic, honey, cinnamon, etc.

Directions:

  1. Pour heavy cream into a food processor.
  2. Process for about 10-15 minutes until the cream separates into butter and buttermilk. This will go through stages of whipped cream, then grainy mixture, and finally butter with liquid separating out.
  3. Drain off the buttermilk and reserve for later use.
  4. Place the butter in a bowl and knead it under cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk.
  5. Add salt and any desired flavorings to the butter and mix well.
  6. Form the butter into a log or shape it using molds.
  7. Refrigerate until firm.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
