Homemade Pizza

Cook Time: 15 minutes

To Make The Crust

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1½ cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornmeal

Directions:

  1. Pour ½ cup of warm water into your stand mixer/ mixing bowl, then sprinkle in the active dry yeast, and 1 tbsp of granulated sugar.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together, then let it sit for about 5 - 7 minutes, or until the yeast foams.
  3. Next pour in the rest of the warm water, and add in ¾ tsp salt, 2 tbsp of olive oil, and the bread flour.
  4. Mix the ingredients until it forms into dough, and knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
  5. Lightly oil a large mixing bowl, then place the dough in the bowl.
  6. Rub a small amount of oil onto the dough, then cover the bowl, and let the dough rest ( in a warm area) for 1 & ½ hours.
  7. Once the dough has rested, punch it in the middle to remove the excess air.
  8. Sprinkle your pizza pan with 1 tbsp of cornmeal, then place the dough on top of the cornmeal.
  9. Use your fingers to press & flatten the dough into your desire shape & size.

To Make The Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt, or salt free seasoning
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Add the tomato paste and water into a medium sized pan, and whisk together.
  2. Place the pan over medium heat, then pour in 1 tbsp of olive oil.
  3. toss in all of the seasonings, sugar, and grated parmesan. Mix until well combined, and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat, and let the sauce cool down before using.
  5. Pre Heat oven to 425
  6. Spread sauce over crust, top with cheese
  7. Bake 15-18 minutes
