Delicious homemade pizza rolls filled with gooey cheese and pepperoni, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Homemade Pizza Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares (about 3x3 inches).
  6. On each square, place a small spoonful of pizza sauce, some mozzarella cheese, and a few slices of pepperoni. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  7. Fold the dough over to form a pocket and pinch the edges to seal. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
