Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Shamrock-shaped cookie cutter
  • Green sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half and tint one half green with the food coloring.
  6. Wrap both dough portions in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  9. Repeat the process with the green dough.
