- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Spoon the fruit jam evenly over the batter, then top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
