Ingredients:
- 14 oz firm tofu, sliced into 1-inch thick steaks
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 whole grain sandwich buns
- 1 cup arugula
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
Directions:
- Press the tofu slices between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, maple syrup, garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
- Place the tofu steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove tofu from the marinade and place in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Toast the sandwich buns in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the sandwiches by layering arugula, air-fried tofu, avocado slices, and tomato on the buns.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
