Serving Size: Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped cabbage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp sugar

Directions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and paprika; cook until the beef is browned.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms.

  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface. Cut into circles about 6 inches in diameter.
  9. Place a spoonful of the beef and cabbage mixture in the center of each circle.
  10. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal. Place seam side down on a baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
