Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg (beaten, for wash)
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Layer the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, pinching the seams to seal.
- Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and make a few slits on top for steam to escape.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
