Savory Sausage Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 pound sausage meat
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine sausage meat, chopped onions, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture on one end of each rectangle.
  5. Roll the pastry over the filling to create a log and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
