Seared Ahi Tuna with Citrus Soy Glaze

Ingredients:

• 2 ahi tuna steaks (6 oz each)
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 2 tbsp honey
• 2 tbsp orange juice
• 1 tsp grated ginger
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, orange juice, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil to make the glaze. Set aside.
2. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
3. Heat a skillet over high heat. Add sesame seeds to the skillet and toast for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove and set aside.
4. Add ahi tuna steaks to the hot skillet and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare doneness. For a more well-done tuna, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes per side.
5. Pour the prepared glaze over the seared tuna in the skillet. Cook for another minute, allowing the glaze to thicken and coat the tuna.
6. Remove the tuna from the skillet and slice into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
7. Serve the seared ahi tuna drizzled with the remaining glaze, topped with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
