Slow Cooker Honeycrisp Applesauce

Difficulty: EASY

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 8 hours

Total Time: 8 hours 15 minutes

Serving Size: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 honeycrisp apples
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 c water
  • Optional: 1 tbsp sweetener, a squeeze of lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Peel the apples, and roughly chop them up.
  2. Throw them into a greased slow cooker with the cinnamon and water. Add more water if you like a thinner applesauce.
  3. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 8 hours, taking a minute to mash down the apples halfway through the process.
  4. When they are done, you can easily mash more with a fork or potato masher, or leave it chunky like I prefer. Serve warm for the real experience, and store the extra in the fridge.
