Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Wood chips for smoking

Directions:

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. Trim excess fat from the brisket and season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Place the brisket in the smoker and smoke for about 5 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 190°F (88°C).
  4. Remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut the brisket into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large bowl.
  6. Mix the BBQ sauce and brown sugar into the bowl with the brisket cubes, coating them evenly.
  7. Transfer the coated burnt ends to a baking dish and cover with foil.
  8. Return the baking dish to the smoker and cook for an additional 1 to 1.5 hours at 250°F (121°C), until caramelized.
  9. Serve warm, drizzled with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
