A refreshing and vibrant drink made from dried hibiscus flowers, infused with tropical flavors and a hint of mint, perfect for any occasion.

Sobolo Bissap Juice

Serving Size: Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime, juiced

Directions:

  1. Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers under cold water to remove any impurities.
  2. In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the rinsed hibiscus flowers to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  4. Simmer the hibiscus flowers for about 30 minutes, then remove from heat and let steep for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl, discarding the flowers.
  6. Stir in the pineapple juice, sugar, grated ginger, vanilla extract, lime juice, and fresh mint leaves.
  7. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  8. Serve over ice and garnish with additional mint leaves if desired.
