Ingredients:
- 1 cup bulgur wheat
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Directions:
- Place bulgur wheat in a bowl and cover with warm water. Let it soak for 30 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked bulgur wheat, ground lamb, chopped onion, garlic, mint, parsley, cinnamon, cumin, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Form the lamb mixture into small oval-shaped balls and flatten slightly to form patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the kibbeh patties on both sides, working in batches if needed.
- Transfer the browned kibbeh patties to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve the spiced lamb kibbeh hot with a side of yogurt sauce or tahini for dipping.
