Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground steak
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices of your favorite bread
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

Directions:

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, combine the ground steak with garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  4. In the same skillet, cook the steak patties until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by layering provolone cheese, steak patty, caramelized onions, and another slice of cheese between two slices of bread.
  6. Spread butter on the outer sides of the bread slices.
