Ingredients:
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
- Rinse the uncooked rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain the soaked rice and spread it out on a clean kitchen towel to dry for about 10-15 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the dried rice to the skillet, ensuring it's spread evenly.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and let the rice toast for about 5-7 minutes, shaking occasionally until the rice begins to puff up.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the rice is golden brown and crispy.
- Sprinkle the salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and black pepper over the puffed rice, tossing to coat evenly.
- Transfer the puffed rice to a bowl and let it cool before serving.
