Decadent Cherry Dream Pie

Ingredients:

• 2 cups pitted cherries
• 1 cup sugar
• 3 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1 pre-made pie crust
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, almond extract, and lemon juice.
3. Pour the cherry mixture into the pie crust, dot with butter, and cover with the top crust. Crimp the edges to seal.
4. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
5. Let the pie cool completely before serving.
6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
7. Serve each slice of cherry pie with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream on top.
