A Donut Burger with Cheddar & Bacon is a sweet and savory indulgence. A juicy beef patty is grilled to perfection and topped with crispy bacon and melted cheddar cheese. Instead of a traditional bun, it's sandwiched between two halves of a glazed donut. This unexpected combination creates a delightful contrast of textures and flavors, with the sweetness of the donut complementing the savory burger and salty bacon. It's a fun and decadent treat for those who love to experiment with their food.

Total Time: 25 minutes

Serving Size: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 apple cider donuts
  • 1/4 cup Simply 60™ Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Directions:

  1. Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add bacon, cooking in batches if necessary, until fat has drained and bacon is cooked through, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  3. Place the bacon on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain. Set aside.
  4. Meanwhile, place beef in a large bowl and season with salt and pepper. Add onion and Worcestershire sauce, and mix to thoroughly combine, being careful not to overmix. Form into 4 patties.
  5. In the same skillet used for the bacon, remove any remaining grease and heat skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook patties to desired doneness, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove onto a plate, top with cheddar cheese slices, and tent with foil to melt cheese.
  7. Slice the donuts in half horizontally and spread apple cider vinaigrette on the interior of each half.
