Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of white bread
- Butter
- 4 slices of American cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined and form into a loaf shape.
- Place the meatloaf on a baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes or until cooked through.
- Let the meatloaf cool slightly before slicing.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the bread slices butter-side down in the skillet.
- Top 4 bread slices with a slice of cheese each.
- Add slices of meatloaf on top of the cheese.
- Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and the remaining bread slices.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping halfway through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
