Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cavatappi pasta
- 4 strips bacon, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded gouda cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the cavatappi pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add butter to the skillet with bacon fat and melt over medium heat.
- Stir in the milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cheddar and gouda cheese to the skillet, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked pasta and crispy bacon with the cheese sauce, mixing well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
