Serving Size: Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons Montreal steak spice
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 inch thick (8 ounces each)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Combine Montreal steak spice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of each steak evenly with olive oil.
- Generously coat both sides of each steak with the spice mixture, pressing it into the meat. Let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 450°F).
- Place steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until internal temperature reaches 130°F. Adjust time for desired doneness.
- During the last minute of grilling, top each steak with half a tablespoon of butter and a smashed garlic clove to melt and infuse flavor.
- Remove steaks from grill and let rest for 5 minutes to redistribute juices.
- Slice steaks against the grain, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
