Brick Oven Italian Thin Crust Pizza

Ingredients:

• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp active dry yeast
• 1 cup warm water
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup pizza sauce
• 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
• Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Directions:

1. In a bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then add yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix flour and salt in a separate bowl. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
4. Preheat your brick oven to 500°F (260°C).
5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to form a thin crust.
6. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese and top with pepperoni slices.
7. Carefully transfer the pizza to the brick oven using a pizza peel.
8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the crust is crispy and cheese is melted.
9. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
