Ingredients:
- 200g Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 200g Emmental cheese, shredded
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
- Assorted dippers (bread cubes, vegetables, fruits)
Directions:
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the halved garlic clove.
- In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the kirsch and mix well.
- In the fondue pot, heat the white wine and lemon juice over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Gradually add the shredded Gruyère and Emmental cheeses, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
- Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until well combined and thickened.
- Season with freshly ground black pepper and nutmeg to taste.
- Serve immediately with assorted dippers.
