A classic Swiss cheese fondue that brings friends and family together for a delightful dining experience.

Cheese Fondue Delight

Serving Size: Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 200g Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 200g Emmental cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Nutmeg, to taste
  • Assorted dippers (bread cubes, vegetables, fruits)

Directions:

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the halved garlic clove.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the kirsch and mix well.
  3. In the fondue pot, heat the white wine and lemon juice over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  4. Gradually add the shredded Gruyère and Emmental cheeses, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
  5. Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until well combined and thickened.
  6. Season with freshly ground black pepper and nutmeg to taste.
  7. Serve immediately with assorted dippers.
